Credit Card

December 25th, 2011 at 02:42 am

I don't have any personal credit card debt, I pay off what I charge every month.

My financial partner K was out of work for a while and ran up a bill of $19,000. Its currently at $14,600 at 7.75%. It cost $100 interest last month which was worth it to me to not pay it off using our savings.

The only other debt we have is our home equity loan ($131,700) and mortgage ($318,200).

#1 short term goal is to pay off this credit card. I have not idea how long it will take. Its one of the reasons I started this, to see if I can track and predict.

I hope you get it paid down. I know how it is to be out of work- that's happened to me, over the years.

I am a little curious - what is "financial partner"?

A financial partner (to me) is a guy I used to be married to, but we broke up for compatible reasons (very amicable) and decided not to split our finances, we owned several properties together and it wasn't a good time to sell. So we decided to stay living together, he moved to the other side of the house. (We also didn't want to split up the cats *grin*). We were going to split some things, but then he lost his job and was out for a year, and then got another for about 8 months, then was out again for over a year. So I've been supporting my ex-husband :} There was no point splitting our finances when he didn't have any.
There is something very comforting about having a financial partner, especially in these times of economic uncertainties.
